Physics Team Engineer
Location: CAMERI – Coastal and Marine Engineering Research Institute, Haifa, Israel

Reports to: Head of Experimental Research Team
Position Overview
CAMERI is seeking a multidisciplinary engineer to join its experimental research team. The role involves planning and executing physical experiments in marine engineering, maintaining measurement instruments, coordinating production and maintenance tasks, and working with subcontractors. The position requires hands-on technical skills, project management capabilities, and a proactive approach to improving work processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and conduct engineering experiments, including model preparation and testing
• Manage subcontractors for model production and marine operations
• Oversee work plans, monitor schedules, and provide status reports
• Develop and implement new procedures and workflows
• Continuously improve work processes with attention to quality and safety
Qualifications
• Basic programming and data processing skills (MATLAB, Python)
• Familiarity with CAD and 3D design software
• Experience working with various materials: wood, composites, concrete, iron, aluminum, hydraulics
• Knowledge of sealing processes and materials
• Physical ability for precise and demanding hands-on work with tools and measurement devices
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field, with academic background in fluid dynamics, hydrodynamics, water waves, and turbulence.
• High-level English proficiency – reading, writing, and communication with international clients
• Ability to translate ideas into actionable work plans and execute them with subcontractors
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with electronics and control systems
• Background in marine engineering or maritime operations
