Environmental/Earth Science Researcher
Location: CAMERI – Coastal and Marine Engineering Research Institute, Technion City, Haifa, Israel
Position Type: Full-time | On-site

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher in the fields of environmental science, marine science, or earth sciences to join our dynamic research team. The successful candidate will contribute to applied projects focused on the environmental impacts of coastal and offshore infrastructure, climate change adaptation, and marine ecosystem dynamics.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct research on coastal and marine processes, including numerical modeling of waves, flow, cohesive and non-cohesive sediment transport, contaminant transport, etc.
• Design and implement numerical models.
• Draft quotations for clients
• Analyze environmental data and prepare technical reports, presentations, and scientific publications.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, modelers, and external stakeholders on multidisciplinary projects.

Qualifications
• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Coastal, Environmental, Marine, Hydraulic, Mechanical Engineering/ Science, Oceanography, Earth Science or a related field.
• Required knowledge: hydrodynamics / aerodynamics (i.e. basic knowledge of hydrodynamic and ocean waves theory or closed subjects with an ability in learning new material), numerical methods (at least finite differences).
• Experience with numerical modeling of waves / flow / transport in ocean / marine environment (e.g., MIKE, TELEMAC, Delft3D, STWAVE, XBEACH, ROMS).
• Proven experience in research, preferably in marine or coastal contexts.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in programming and data analysis tools (e.g., Fortran, MATLAB, Excel, Python, R, GIS).
• Written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Publication record in peer-reviewed journals
